New Database for Sponsored Care Visa Jobs

A database of licensed sponsors in the care worker sector was recently released for prospective migrant workers looking to move to the UK for work. The database combines the Home Office's licensed sponsor database with the Care Quality Commission's register of regulated services, making the search for a suitable job more streamlined.

Emiliano Mellino, of the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, shared reasons behind the tool's creation on X:

It addresses a need that came up time and time again when [we] were talking to care workers. Care worker visas are tied to their employers, meaning that if they are fired, if they quit or if the Home Office takes enforcement action against the employer and revokes its sponsor licence, they lose their right to stay in the UK.
While a government database of visa sponsors exists, it is unwieldy and does not differentiate between sectors.

Although still in its early stages, the database is updated on a daily basis and the developers are eager to receive feedback from both care workers and immigration professionals on its functionality.
